While attending McNally Smith College of Music I started The Firm Records Group, LLC on student loans. After getting incorporated in June of 2004 I released my first CD, The Beckoning’s “Lilydale Road”. We recorded this album with no budget in our apartment building that was being gutted and turned into condos. So we literally recorded in random abandoned apartments, stairwells, and bathrooms…it was awesome. Although the sound quality was compromised because of where we recorded, I’m extremely proud of that record. So many lessons were learned that could have never been taught in a class room.
After three years and relentless hard work, I’m now working with some of the best in the business. I signed two-time Grammy nominated Chris Cunningham (A.K.A. Neverwas), whom was a teacher at McNally Smith when I attended…and have signed guitar great Jason Crigler. Although The Beckoning members went there separate ways I’ve signed the lead singer of The Beckoning, Jared Boria, now with Air Museum to a record deal and am sure that the world will get to know and love them in late 2007.

Why the Name?
I get this question all the time...although a little corny, here's the story...My Dad is a lawyer and he had hopes that one day that we could open up shop together with our own law firm. Well, I hate school...and there is no way I could handle going to law school...so when I came up with the idea of starting my own label I turned to my Dad for some law advice...long story short...this was the closes that me and my Dad were going to get to working together...this was our FIRM...and that is how THE FIRM RECORDS name was born.
