We hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Turkey Day.

It's OFFICIAL, The Firm Records is moving back to the Twin Cities of Minnesota!

We'll be making a slow move with the whole office being officially "re-opened" in mid-May of 2009.

This won't affect anything on the customer end, so don't hesitate to purchase an album or send us a request to book out one of our bands.

We're currently in the Studio now putting the final touches on Air Museum's debut album that will be out mid-2009.  We have a lot of great collaborations on this album that will for sure rock your socks off.

Imagine a web-platform for studio musicians that allows them record with other musicians without ever having to leave the comfort of their home recording studio...You can Buy, Sell, or Swap your studio services using an easy to use website called - SwapBeats.com

Here at The Firm Records we've been using the Internet (FTP Sites) to send tracks to other musicians, producers and engineers to record and finish albums...let me tell you, the inefficiency, miscommunication and cost related to making albums this way have has now been fixed.  The Firm Records, and Air Museum have been asked by  SwapBeats to be a part of a private BETA site that is filled with hobby and professional musicians all ready to be hired and collaborate with us to record an album like no one has before.

MORE ABOUT SWAPBEATS

SwapBeats began as an original music project between a small group of friends who have shared and still share a love for recording songs and watching them grow.  Separated by thousands of miles, these friends have inspired SwapBeats and each other by exchanging their talents and instrumentation over the internet to create something bigger than themselves.

Our mission is to nurture musician's talent and ideas by providing more than a meeting ground for musicians.  SwapBeats is a movement fed by passion for discovery and self expression.  It is a process and not a place.

In February 2009, when we go to public BETA testing, we invite you to join in our exploration and as we join in yours.  Together we will share a journey to find others hungry for inspiration and community.  For just as a song moves and breathes, we will not remain stagnant.  We will find harmony together as we move forward in our creation of music.

Life. Support. Music.

(Documentary about Jason Crigler)

Fast on his way to becoming a rock star, Jason Crigler's life as he knew it suddenly ended on stage on August 4, 2004. The singer-songwriter, who had performed with Linda Thompson, John Cale and Marshall Crenshaw, suffered a freak neurological incident that left him unable to care for himself or for his pregnant wife. Exploring similar terrain to Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Eric Daniel Metzger follows up his True/False favorite Chances of the World Changing with another exquisitely filmed story of determination and destiny. Metzger uses shatteringly intimate footage of the Crigler family, who never give up hope even during the darkest moments, and of Jason before and after the incident. By film's end, he has painted a poetic portrait that reveals the power of love, the indomitability of the human spirit and the undeniable healing properties of music.
